When we have a research opportunity that might be a match, we'll send you a text message. That's how we do outreach for all of our outreach – no random phone calls here.
1. Tell us a little about yourself
When you sign up, we'll ask you some basic questions about who you are — things like your age, where you live, your work, and other characteristics and experiences. We use this information to find research opportunities that might be a good fit for you.
2. Keep an eye on your texts
When we have a research opportunity that might be a match, we'll send you a text message. That's how we do outreach for all of our outreach – no random phone calls here.
The text will tell you a little about the study and what we're looking for. We may ask you a few additional screening questions to make sure you're a fit.
If you qualify, we'll tell you exactly what's involved, how much time it will take, and how much you'll be paid before you decide whether you want to participate.
3. Take part in the research
Depending on the project, we might invite you to participate in one of three ways:
Text Interview
You'll answer a short series of 7-10 questions in your own words by text message. Our AI interviewer may ask follow-up questions based on what you tell us – more like a conversation than a survey. You can respond from your phone, wherever you happen to be.
1:1 Interview
You'll book a time to meet with one of our researchers over Google Meet. We'll spend 30-minutes talking about your experiences, opinions, and perspective on the topic we're researching.
Focus Group
You may also be invited to join a small group of other participants for a moderated conversation over Google Meet. You'll hear what other people have to say, share your own perspective, and discuss the topic together.
Whatever the format, there are no right or wrong answers and you don't need to be an expert. We're interested in what you actually think.
4. Get paid
Your time and perspective have value.
The amount you receive depends on the study and how much of your time we're asking for. We'll always tell you the incentive before you agree to participate, and once you've completed the research, we'll send you your payment.

Research is better when people can actually say what they think.
A lot of research asks you to check a box, pick from a list, and move on.
We’re more interested in the why.
We conduct conversations with people across the US to understand what they think, what they’ve experienced, and what matters to them. Sometimes those conversations happen by text message. Sometimes they happen one-on-one with a researcher. And sometimes we have conversations as a group.
Your perspective helps shape the world around you. The organizations behind our studies use research to make decisions about products, services, policies, communications, and issues that affect people’s lives.
You don’t need to know anything special to participate. There are no right answers. We’re looking for real people with real opinions, including yours.

Before you participate, we’ll explain what the study involves, how much time it should take, and what you’ll receive for completing it.
Participation is always your choice.
An invitation is just that – an invitation. You can say yes or no.
We won’t spam you.
We’ll contact you when we have a research opportunity that may be relevant to you, not just for the sake of filling your inbox.
Different studies work differently.
Some are text-based conversations you can complete on your own time. Others are one-on-one interviews conducted by phone or video.
Technology may be part of the conversation.
By joining, you understand that some of the research opportunities we invite you to may use AI to conduct the interview.
Your privacy matters.
We protect your personal information and do not sell it.
We only know what you choose to tell us.
You decide what information you share when you join and participate in research.
This is research. Nothing else.
We will never ask you to buy something, donate money, support a cause, or vote for anyone.
